Lauren Siktberg is the passionate owner and designer of Anchored Style. An active water enthusiast, Lauren created Anchored Style to combine her passion for the water with her experience and love for the fashion industry. Inspired by days spent at the beach or cruising the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, mixed with her love for classic Ivy style, Lauren sought to fill something missing from the apparel market: a superior quality lifestyle brand made by American craftsmen. After graduating with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising from Florida State University, Lauren spent the next 7 years working in the fashion industry. She gained valuable insights and experiences and developed her skills in product design and development, sales and marketing, visual merchandising, and customer service. She also had the unique experience of working as one of the the first employees for two start-up wholesale fashion companies which furthered her desire for her own company. Acting on the wise words of Mark Twain, Lauren decided to throw off her bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, and catch the trade winds in her sails. Excited to finally develop the concept that she had been dreaming of for years, she dove into researching, planning, and designing in the summer of 2010. She reached out to fellow water lovers to gain their input and connected with members of College Sailing Teams and the US Sailing Team, “Alphagraphics,” who were training for the 2012 Olympics as well as kite-boarders, surfers, beach lovers, and fishermen. Filled with inspiration and input, Lauren poured her heart, creativity, and soul into Anchored Style. Her drive, determination, and sheer will power paid off and within seven short months she had developed her entire product line, devised a marketing plan, built strategic partnerships, brought the brand into the market, and hired representatives on college campuses across the country. As soon as her product arrived, she set off on a whirlwind marketing tour of New England to share her style and passion with others. Her dream of creating a classic look with a “surfer-prep” edge was realized and Anchored Style set sail, soon to be docking in harbor near you.
