In 2009, Jason Bolt, our founder and CEO, envisioned the future of Society43 while attending UW Husky games and Seattle Sounders matches. Jason noticed that fans wore hats, shirts, and foam fingers, but no one had sunglasses to support their team. Fans were either squinting in the sun trying to see what was happening on the field, or wearing typical black boring shades. The only companies offering team sunglasses focused on flipping a cheap product for easy profits with no consideration of the greater good. Having always been an avid sunglasses collector (200 pairs and counting) and a sports fanatic, Jason saw an opportunity to create a socially conscious company that designed fashionable, exciting, and affordable sunglasses for college sports fans.
