According to Yeti, they were founded in 2006 with the simple mission to build the cooler you’d use every day if it existed. Not only did they meet their goal, but they exceeded it with flying colors. Yeti was created by two brothers who had an equal passion for the outdoors. They would travel to outdoor industry trade shows with their entrepreneur father which allowed them to come to appreciate wildlife and other territories. They both decided that the coolers on the market at the time just were not cutting it with the demands of the average outdoorsman. They claimed that “the handles would break, the latches would snap off, and the lids would cave in.” The brothers decided that something had to be done in order for them to save the fun times they enjoyed in the outdoors. This frustration they experienced with the commonplace coolers led them to a practical solution. They decided that in order for their cooler to sell, they needed to invent one that was actually built for the outdoorsman who would use it rather than being built for the store that would sell it. The cooler needed to be sturdy enough for the rough and tumble lifestyle of the sportsman and one that was not going to break the first time it was put to use. Today, Yeti has developed products that are fit for their environment, no matter where that may be. Their most famous product is most definitely the coolers, but they have since developed tumblers, tee shirts, hats, tanks, and ramblers that are able to stand up to the test of time. No matter what outdoor activity you enjoy partaking in, Yeti will always have a product or two (or maybe a few more) that will be able to serve your needs.
