Collared Greens believes that elegance and eco-consciousness can coexist, and has combined these ideals in an effort to redefine American fashion with forward-thinking and timeless style. Collared Greens was founded by R. Randolph “Randy” Ashton who lives in Ketchum, Idaho, the home of Sun Valley Resorts’ world-renowned Bald Mountain. Prior to the inception of Collared Greens, Randy worked as a freelance photographer for the outdoor lifestyle market and published two photography books, “Fly Fishing In Idaho” and “A Celebration of Salmon Rivers.” The idea to manufacture "green" clothing for trendsetting and fashionable folks (who would rather have their clothing produced and marketed in an environmentally-sensitive manner) came to Randy while on assignment to photograph the great Atlantic salmon rivers for the North Atlantic Salmon Fund, a conservation organization based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Traveling alone through 13 countries to photograph over 60 rivers during a two-year period provided inspiration and time for Randy to write down his vision for Collared Greens. Why "Collared Greens?" First, it's a word play on the delicious Southern dish collard greens, a form of kale. Secondly, all of our polo shirts have the Collared Greens original green twill tape on the inside collar to indicate that they are made with sustainable, "green" organic cotton. As you may have guessed, our polar bear brand symbol was suggested by this magnificent animal's status as an iconic endangered species. The CG24 Conservation project is a commitment to help protect and promote the environment. Each year, Collared Greens will partner with three conservationists to help promote their efforts and donate to their cause. Collared Greens will donate one percent of our profits on behalf of “One Percent for the Planet” and donate another percent, for a total of two percent of our profits, on behalf of Collared Greens and Marvin Leopold, the green polar bear. The environment needs our help, and Collared Greens intends to do just that - help! Thanks for being a part of the CG24 Conservation Project.
