Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded November 1, 1901 at Richmond College (now the University of Richmond). It was founded based on three principles: virtue, diligence and brotherly love. Currently, Sigma Phi Epsilon is one of the largest social fraternities around. Notable alumni include: Davey O'Brien (college qb), James Naismith (inventor of basketball) and John Goodman (actor).
