    Peter-Blair, which introduced its first line of ties in 2002, offers sophisticated print and woven ties, bow ties and pocket squares in an array of geometric and novelty designs, often described as "conservative with a twist". Bold in color, preppiness and whimsy, all products are 100% silk and hand-sewn in the USA. Peter-Blair is known for some of its "play on words" designs, such as "Chick Magnet", "Card Shark" and "When Pigs Fly". Having been in the retail business for over 30 years and a storeowner for 15 of those years, Dick Fowlkes, president of Peter-Blair, saw the opportunity to bring fresh, unique colors and patterns to men’s ties that had previously been exclusive to a much higher price point. Dick began the tie line using vintage screens from the silk houses of Como, Italy but quickly realized he wanted to take the line further. “It seemed that there were two options out there for my store. I could either buy great designs in less daring colors or I could buy woven ties in fabulous colors but more traditional designs. I wanted to combine the best of the two options.” With a grounding in beautiful Italian designs, the interest of signature colors and a price point that was accessible, Peter-Blair ties would offer a product currently unavailable in the marketplace. Three years later, Dick brought on his sister as the official in-house designer for all fabrics and the line continued to grow. In the summer of 2008, Peter-Blair introduced its woven collection, which has become a signature staple to the tie line and continues to gain popularity each season. In its tenth year, Peter-Blair offers more than forty new designs each spring and fall and also has a holiday collection. The line also includes pocket squares and a signature woven line called "Bespoke". Peter-Blair's custom program has also become a major aspect of the business, as the brand collaborates with various companies, resorts, schools and foundations across the country on custom ties, scarves, silk pictures frames and tote bags.
