Texas Christian University

Texas Christian University was established in 1873 and is affiliated with the Christian Church. There are 130 undergraduate programs, 61 master’s degree programs and 24 doctoral study programs. Last year, the Rees- Jones Foundation gave the university a $20 million gift for the TCU Institute of Child Development, which works with children who have social, behavioral and emotional problems. Since 1973, graduate and undergraduate students have managed an Educational Investment Fund of more than $1 million in assets, which allows students to experience investing and portfolio management.The bronze frog statue located at the heart of campus was constructed in 1984 by Seppo Aarnos, an internationally known sculptor and parent of two TCU alumni; students rub the frog’s nose for good luck before exams.Texas Christian University competes in NCAA Division I athletics, and the school mascot is the Horned Frog.
