It’s wedding season! Love is in the air and it seems like there is wedding around every corner this time of the year! This is your cheat sheet guide to wedding attire for every kind of event. From Cocktail attire to beach wear, we got you covered! The only thing you need to worry about is what's going to be in your glass at the reception!

Beach Formal

The beach wedding – how picturesque! The waves are gently rolling in, the sun is perfect, and the gulls are singing.  This is the wedding that has natural elegance. Plus, this is the wedding that gives you an excuse to plan a quick beach get away! What are you going to pack? A better question: what are you going to wear to the wedding?

Ladies, you can go in a couple directions with this but really all you need is a formal sun dress! This dress should be tea or knee length. A pretty easy wardrobe to pull together. The only decision you need to make is if you’re wearing sandals or going barefoot! This is the wedding that you’ll dress comfortably for because, well, you’re at the beach!

Gents you’re in luck! The beach wedding shouldn’t require anything unattainable for you either. Don't worry, no monkey suits! Men should wear a summer suit with a linen shirt paired with linen pants or khakis, and finished off with a pair of boat shoes! This is comfortable by clean look that will have you set for an evening of dancing and walking down the beach.

Preppy Attire

The preppy wedding. This is usually a theme decided on by the bride and the groom. If you know these two lovebirds well then you probably already know that they can’t get enough of Seersucker, Vineyard Vines, and Country Club Prep’s style…not to mention the slight obsession the bride has with Jack Rogers.

For lack of better words, the attire for this wedding is country club attire. For this particular occasion, Ladies, you should wear a crisp preppy sun dress. If you’re unsure where to shop, we’re positive that anyone in the wedding party could direct you to a few places!

Gentleman follow the ladies lead of course! You should be wearing a clean and crisp button down, showing off some Seersucker pants and complimented by a bow tie! Your sports coat is optional at this event but don’t forget to match your belt and shoes. You already know you can hide some fun preppy socks in there if you're really feeling it!

Semi-Formal Attire

The semi-formal wedding. This is probably one of the most common wedding attires. Semi-formal or cocktail attire, tells everyone that this is a nice event that you should care about but don’t go overboard! No crazy tuxes are necessary but you're in for a classy night of frivolity and fun!

Ladies you should be rocking a dressy jumpsuit or a cocktail dress with heels or wedges. This is your night out on the town attire! Just be ready to lose your shoes when you hit the dance floor to dance the night away!

Gentleman don’t worry, this isn’t a black-tie event! Your semi-formal attire should be a suit and tie. Anything from suspenders to cummerbunds is fair game and a sport coat is always welcome! You'll have all the single ladies swooning at the reception.
